Group Expression of Interest
We are seeking interest from young people with lived experience in out of home care, who are keen on being part of a creative co-design group within GOM Central. If you are 15 to 30 years old and are in/have been in out-of-home care, we would love to hear from you!
What is GOM Central?
GOM Central started with a group of young people from out-of-home care coming together to talk about the difficulties they faced when transitioning to independence and what would have made it easier for them. In 2018, Relationships Australia SA launched GOM Central – an online place for resources, podcasts, videos, blog posts and a mobile app. GOM Central was created by young people, for young people.
What will you do?
The creative collaboration group will work together, supported by a lived experience worker on projects that will keep growing and improving GOM Central for other young people transitioning out of care. The group will provide feedback about the current website and contribute to new ideas, resources, podcasts, workshops and more, for other young people to engage in. The group will meet once a month on a Wednesday for 1-2 hours as a starting point. We will confirm attendance and provide more details once the group is established.
What’s in it for you?
You will meet other young people with similar experiences and have space to connect, share ideas and feedback together. It’s a great opportunity to build confidence, connection, professional experience, and life skills. This is a paid opportunity.
